Savory sesame cookies
When you have had enough sweets but want something crunchy, try these savory cookies. Their flavor is mild, and they are not salty despite the amount of salt in the recipe. I think grated hard cheese and caraway would turn them into a good snack to serve with beer.
Mix softened butter, vegetable oil, eggs (whole and white), salt and vinegar in a bowl.
Add flour sifted with baking powder in 2-3 additions. Knead the dough.
The dough is quite soft and crumbles slightly when rolled out. Doesn't stick to your hands or rolling pin.
Roll out into a layer of about 0.5 cm. Cut out with a cookie cutter. I just cut it into diamonds. Place on a baking sheet.
Add a spoonful of milk (or water) to the yolk and brush the cookies. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake in a hot oven for about 20 minutes. Temperature 180°C.
