Ham salad with pasta

The combination of ingredients may sound unusual, but once you try this salad, it is hard to resist a second helping. Replace the mayonnaise with sour cream if you are making it for children. And do keep the garlic — it adds to the flavor.

Boil the pasta in plenty of salted water for 8-10 minutes. Make sure they are not overcooked. Drain the water and set aside.
While the pasta is cooking, cut the ham into cubes and the pepper into strips.
Cut the onion into large half rings. Cut cherry tomatoes in half. Cut the gherkins into large slices.
In a large salad bowl, mix boiled pasta, peppers, ham, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions.
In a small bowl, lightly whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, granulated broth, vinegar, salt, pepper, minced garlic and gherkin brine.
Pour the resulting dressing over the salad and mix well. Cover the salad with a tight lid or cover with cling film and put in the refrigerator for several hours.
