Cut-out cookies

The first snow fell today and suddenly it feels like winter, even though October is only just approaching. Time to think about New Year and Christmas baking! I made cookies with vegetable oil, worried that the dough might be too crumbly to shape and roll. It worked well: the cookies are crisp, fragrant and lightly spiced, especially delicious with icing.

Sift flour, starch and baking powder into a separate bowl. Add spices and stir.

STEP 4 — Combine both mixtures. And knead the dough. The dough turns out soft, similar to plasticine, does not crumble, and rolls out well.

STEP 9 — 60 gr. Mix powdered sugar with 2 teaspoons of warm boiled water. Moreover, we add water not all at once, but in parts, literally a few drops at a time. We added it, mixed it, and tried to lift it on a spoon. If it’s thick, add more water and mix again. The glaze should stick to the spoon. You can add a drop of food coloring to the finished glaze.

STEP 10 — Since I’ve never been good at drawing, I simply covered the cooled cookies with glaze.
