INGREDIENTS

Adjust servings in the full version

original yield — 6 servings
potatoes 1.5 kg
minced meat (I used beef) 500 g
Onion 3
hard cheese 70 g
Vegetable oil (for frying)
salt to taste
For the sauce
milk 3 glass
Sour cream 100 g
Flour 1 tbsp
spices (whichever you prefer)
salt to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
01

Turn on the oven at 180 degrees. While we are assembling the casserole, it will have time to heat up.

02

Place a wide frying pan on the fire and pour in a little vegetable oil. Cut the peeled onion into cubes and place in a frying pan.

03

As soon as the onion has become soft, add minced meat to it. Stir and fry until done. If your minced meat is a little dry, like mine, you can add a little water, literally a quarter cup. Add salt. You can add ground black pepper if you like. I didn't add it.

04

When the minced meat is cooked, transfer it to a separate plate, and in the same pan we will prepare the sauce for the casserole.

05

Mix milk, sour cream and flour thoroughly in a separate bowl. Make sure all the lumps dissolve. Add salt and favorite spices. This time I took a ready-made mixture of spices for meat, which I bought at the market. Pour the mixture into the pan and cook, stirring all the time, until thickened.

06

The sauce is ready. Let's start assembling the casserole.

07

Cut the potatoes into slices and place them overlapping on a baking sheet with high sides. Spread half the sauce over the potato layer.

08

Spread all the cooked minced meat evenly over the sauce.

09

There is another layer of potatoes on top of the minced meat. Our last layer will be the sauce.

10

Bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 1 hour. If the top starts browning too quickly, cover the casserole with foil.

11

About 10 minutes before the end of cooking, sprinkle the casserole with grated cheese.

12

Remove the casserole from the oven and leave for 10-15 minutes. It will cool down a little, and it will become much easier to divide it into portions.
