How to dilute vinegar to the required strength

Recipes often call for 9% or 6% vinegar, but you may only have 70% vinegar essence at home. What should you do?
Use this formula: (A*B)/C
A is the required concentration;
B is the required volume;
C is the concentration you have.
Suppose you need 100 ml of 9% vinegar.
Calculate: (9*100)/70=12.8.
Subtract 13 ml (the amount of vinegar essence) from 100 ml (the final volume). This gives 87 ml, which is the amount of water needed.
Add 13 ml of 70% vinegar essence to 87 ml of water and mix.
100 (final volume) – 13 (vinegar essence) = 87 (water)
87 (water) + 13 (vinegar essence) = 100 (9% vinegar)
To avoid repeating these calculations, remember the following. Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar essence to half a glass of water and you get 9% vinegar.
By the way, 15 ml is a tablespoon.
10 ml is a dessert spoon;
5 ml is a teaspoon.
Happy cooking, everyone!
